Hi there - I wanted to respond to your comment on my blog about getting into microstock. When you save your files, make sure it's saved as an Illustrator eps. Click save and it'll open another screen that's titled 'eps options' - at the top is a pull down menu titled 'version:' and you can save it as an illustrator eps 8.

one other thing - files saved as an eps 8 can't have transparancies or big effects that you can find in newer versions of Illustrator because they'll be rasterized and ruined (or at least will look sloppy). Gradient meshes work fine. Shutterstock (http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=325258) right now is the only site (so far) that allows you to upload Illustrator 10 files...so more 'tricks' are allowed.

Last comment (I promise!) - if you're getting into microstock - download the open path selector - http://rj-graffix.com/software/plugins.html - because a lot of sites, like Istockphoto, will reject an uploaded file because of open paths. I'm work pretty cleanly, and I still end up with open paths from time to time. Then you can find where your open paths are and select each one individually and click on the 'merge' button in the pathfinder window (otherwise they all group together and move to the top of the layer).
